well, I stumbled across this site yesterday and wow it's great. Everyone seems really and helpful and so much information! My 1.8 ci coupe (2003) has just been resurrected form slumber land as it failed its mot in december for broken
coil springs and corroded brake pipes so I sorned it till I got it fixed at an indy garage at half the price the local bmw garage wanted. Anyway I took it for a retest and it passed yippee BUT he advised that a gearbox exhaust brkt is broken and the front discs were badly pitted I promised to get them sorted.
Question, are the an easy fix? I mean I can change oil, filters, disc pads etc but
not sure what is involved with discs, I would never attempt brake pipes! One thing for other owners of 318 ci coupe s, it is the second time I have had replacement springs the first one broke at 19000 miles which I got done under warranty I have only done 52000 miles now and don't carry anything heavy etc but it seems it is a "fault" but bmw say oh no it's not. Anyway I have waffled on long enough if anyone would like to comment it would greatly appreciated
Cheers for now
