Hi everyone, I've been pointed in this direction by some of the guys from another forum.

I've decided to get myself an E46 coupe. My budget is £5k, and for that I want a manual 6 pot sport (or higher) model. Only stipulations are that I don't want a gold one, and I'm not keen on tan or grey interiors either.

Ideal spec (trying to remain semi-realistic) would be a black 330Ci M-Sport with black leather.

I'm having trouble finding decent ones without moon mileage for the money - there are a couple around, but am I asking a bit much for my money?

Realistically mate the type of car you want for the money you are prepared to pay is not going to happen :(

I recently bought a 325i Sport Saloon (2003 reg) for £6k with 69k miles on the clock. I was after a 330 CI Sport for £6k ish but there were none about under 80k miles

Think you either need to raise your price or lower the spec a little...

    Hi Pies,Welcome to Bimmerforums.co.uk...........

Good luck with your search...You could get a mint E36 for that money however think you may be hard pressed to find an E46 you want though

thanks for the replies guys, I'd be prepared to go down as far as a 320 sport, but I wouldn't want a 4 pot so the 318 is out. I might even consider a 4 door really, but 2 door cars are more my thing.

I have considered a few 90-110k mile cars, I figure that if they have been looked after they should have plenty of life left in them?

I'm not so keen on the E36, I used to really like them but I've gone off them in recent years.

I'll keep looking then, but I might just have to up the budget slightly!

I saw lots 330s with 67-80 k on clock and they been molested looked like 200k car so think about 100+ they better coz have more service history and cheap and very often in better condition.

the higher mileage cars are always better imo, when i was viewing them the low mileage ones just did not seemed any good.

my 330ci sport, manual, with black leather, harman kardon & xenons on a 2003 plate cost me £4000

the downside as some people see it is it had done 157,000 miles- but that really isnt a problem, by the time my car was 18 months old it had been through 7 services and 90,000 miles, most low mileage cars probably wouldnt of even had the bonnet opened by then

you should easily pick up a tidy 2002ish 330ci sport with under 120,000 on it for £5000.

    2003 bmw 330ci sport
    plus 3 fiat puntos
