    Hi guys

    Just bought the Mrs a 2002 330d Sport Touring, its got an auto box with loads of extras including folding mirrors,xenons etc, has 82k on it with FSH and Michelin Pilot Tyres

    picking it up on Thursday,





    here are a few of mine and the wifes old cars, been into them since i left school, however due to buying a bigger house and having a little one im reduced to a diesel Saab & T5 camper, now the Mrs has the 330d

    84' Audi Coupe

    91' Civic 1.6i-VT


    Saab 9-5 2.3 Turbo


    Subaru Forester Turbo

    thanks guys, i have read Tefals thread already, as mines an auto its a bit worrying about the swirl flaps tbh :s

    is there anyway you can check them at all, i couldnt see it mentioned on the thread

    fraid removing the intake manifold is the only way

    well the car has got 3 months warranty, after that if i get any major engine work done i will have a new one fitted or this one checked i think

    that was the only reason i didnt buy the 320d tbh

    true, i just dont want to be having any agro with it, how often do they go ? 100% of the time or just on a few here and there

    truth be told swirl flap failure is very seldom, its just when they do fail most are looking at a replacement engine!
    thats why most members have weighed up the risk versus the expense and just removed them, ultimately your call tho

    ah i see, well if it can be removed then whenever it has its next lot of engine work (hg/ Inlet gasket etc) i will have it removed then
