    Hi, just bought my first bimmer, a z3, any tips or things to look for during ownership let me know

    what engine ? like most you wll end up changing the wheels to bigger one and you will soon meet mr tramline the z car its well know for this bad habit i have a z myself there fun cars that like to sway ends in the wet if pushed to hard so watch out till you get used to it

    Look for cracking in the sills and subframes. The 3 series Compact chassis wasn't really up to having the roof sawn off.

    the boot welds some time fail pull the carpet out and look on the boot floor if there gone you will see them poped

    its a 1.9, and it's the orinoco pearl edition. Hasn't rained yet so haven't had it sliding around but sure i'll have some fun when it does.
    I checked the subframe when i bought it and all looked ok, only thing is i didn't know how to get the tool kit out to check the welds under there, do you know how to get the tool kit out just so i can check this?

    i cant remember now i had mine out years ago and kept it out mite be bolted down just have a look am sure its easy to remove

    then look at the boots floor you will see spot welds in a line going across the floor like i say if there gone you will see rite away. tends to be on the bigger engine cars havnt seen it on a 1.9 as of yet but thats not to say it cant happen
