Hi all, I'm Simon (_BSM_) just picked up a 96 E36 318 SE saloon for £150 with MOT till june '11 so thought it was high time I had a look about. Used to mod Mk1 mr2's but given that up!!
I'm a roadside breakdown technician so and have worked in lots of different dealerships. Merc Being one of them, hence I bought a BMW !! hehe
Very impressed with the site so far and will add anything I can where possible.

    Cheers

This is how I got her, with a set of 16's that really needed tyres (front 205's were on the back and the 225's were on the front!!

Then I p[icked up a set of E46 rims with good tyres and got to this stage..

She suffers from the wandering over differences in road surface but wishbones have been changed and tracking poss RTAB's needed next..

Yeah the paintwork is bad but when the weather gets better she'll have a bit of 2 pack thrown at her to get her gleaning again!! Only doen 103k with 3 owners so think she's worth investing in..

Funny you should say that I don't tend to have many broken ones!! Maybe why I bought this one when she came up cheap?!!?

The drivers window didn't work and it needed the white clips, the engine mounts were in two pieces as was the downpipe which got a lesson from the MIG. The stereo had been wired in by a spagetti mechanic and i bought the loom from ebay for £1.85 posted free!! Everything works as it should now, the treacle in the sump (10/50 can in the boot) was dropped and she doesn't sound like a bag of spanners now either!! RTAB are next with tracking, think that'll cure the wandering which is a little scary at times...
