    Hi all,

New here, just researching really. I've been into the VW thing for a few years but due to family etc I've had to move on my cherished cars over the years.

    I now drive a Fiesta! mk5 51 plate 1.25 zetec. I'm 6'4" so it's not ideal!

A little about me: I'm an analyst at a major financial company in Northampton, I have a house with my Fiance (which replaced my mk4 golf ha - the house, not the fiance), and we have 2 children, 2yr old boy (which replaced my Corrado) and 6month old girl (which is now spurring me on to have what i want!).

We're saving to get married so I won't have my dreamm 330 for another year or so, but no harm in looking.

Ideally i want a facelift 330ci sport, manual, black, red or nature leather, factort satnav and harmon kardon sound system. I love them on MV1 wheels but i'd want to do a few cheeky mods too.

So, hopefully i'll be posting pics of my motor at some point!

    Cheers,

    Oli

haha no i don't! was only messing about the welcome though, the newb posts rarely get touched on many forums unless they have pics or interesting stuff in!

I am getting married instead, so, hopefully, after that i will be able to find something. i like to trawl through the pages on here for inspiration though. The only thing putting me off is the fact that there isn't much to do engine-wise. i come from a vw background, and those engines are so under-stressed it's a joke. lots of room for tinkering. but these 3.0 lumps are pretty much at the pinnacle of their powers without big money.

true about the engine but there is room for progress on the handling front and the timing chains don't stretch like the vr6 family of engines either.

didnt knoe thast about the timing chain - what's the interval for the timing chain? or is it a 'non-serviceable' item?

handling was where i was going to make changes - i haven't looked into what i can do though. i've had coilovers in the bast and i wasn;t that impressed and i never altered the height, so i think a static drop on a good spring/shock setup will be what i go for. Koni/Eibach combo popular and a good choice on BMWs as it is on VWs?

    Cheers!

I'm still months away from a 330. Doesn't stop me showing the missus every single one I find though!

YES!!! I bought one last night!

After a lot of travelling (Northampton to Basildon for an ST220, to Aylesbury for a 330i auto, to St Neots for a 330i touring) i was pointed to a facelift '54 plate 325i Sport an hour up the M1 in Rugby.

I'll get a full spec/to-do list when I can get some pictures, but it 'feels' almost as quick as a 330, it's no slouch really, but the biggest grin on my face is just how secure it is on the road. The handling of it is just phenominal.
