    Hi All,
Just bought a 2001 525iT sport wagon. I've rebuilt several 5-series motors over the years, but now I know why their owners where so dedicated. Fantastic ride, petrol-head handling, great ergonomics.
First order of business is the front struts. Just ordered Koni's for all the corners, and am wading through the mud of spring choices. No EDI, so hopefully, I'll figure it out. Always open to suggestions.
    Cheers,
    Kevin

eibach take some beating for springs H+R are very good too. good luck with the motor the suspension is a common wear point on these so when thats right should be a good motor.

    Hi Kev

Welcome to the forum, nothing like jumping in there. Some one will no doubt reply to your question....

I rebuilt my e39 3 years ago, well the front from the block forward after an accident, loved that car.

Get some picks up or start a project thread

    Steve

    Thanks guys,
    What a cool welcome.
Was reminded last night what a beautiful piece of engineering this car is.
With 93K miles, its in very good shape. Other than the front suspension feeling dodgy as heck, just the radio display has the pixel loss. I can deal with that, and as I mentioned, I have the Koni's and am ready to replace bushings, etc.
On the springs, I've yet to find a definitive listing for the wagon. And to be honest, with the roads we have here (not good), I'm inclined to go with the stock springs, with 93K on them, and deal with a full upgrade next time around.
Yep, I'll start a thread on anything of interest
    Cheers,
    Kevin
