Hi guys, I am a new member. I am completely bonkers about cars, and pretty
well spend all the hard earned on them. I have restored several cars over
the years, one of the last was a M535iA. My latest quest is to restore a 840 Ci back to new, this includes total mechanical rebuild, re trim , new 18 wheels
and then total re spray. The garage has had my car 2 months but are stuck
with a vibration under acceleration. He thinks it's the diff but I am not sure.
I think it's the exhaust, but he says the engine has to come out for a new
exhaust. I'm sure you guys may have some ideas as after reading some 2006
posts it seems like a common problem. Will put up some pics when she is finished, unless the vibration drives me mad.

welcome to you Mr BM Bonzo!

you did know the 8 series also came with a 12 cylinder engine?

good luck in your quest and you should find some willing chaps offering advice on here.

(just a word though, make sure you follow the posting rules as it helps us all out as the search facility actually works and it stops the fantastic mods getting narky)

    welcome!

you must be bonkers rebuilding an 840 but good luck with it, I know nothing about those but can't believe the engine needs to come out for a new exhaust.
