Nice car pal I have an ES model too. I have the Mtech wheel and gear stick as well. I asked the question a while on here and I was told the wheel and stick were extras for my model... assume it will be the same in your case - I am sure these guys will correct me if I am wrong

Yeah I think it is, having read the trade guides, the optional extras for this car 316ti ES 8/2003-8/2004 that are evident are:

    Interior -
    m-tech branded leather steering wheel
    m-tech gear-stick
    part leather interior
sports seats (driver & front passenger)

    exterior -
    badgeless rear
    spoke alloys
    metallic paint

Ahh - that is really interesting. My car has no badge on the rear. I always wondered why the original lady owner would have had the car debadged ... makes sense now

Anyone know what the differences between the sport seats and the standard seats are though?

Someone round the corner from me has an e46 in blue (02 plate) and his seats are straight up and down, whereas mine are more bucket shaped.

Another option extra according to the guide on my car is electric rear pop-out windows.

Check Parkers and Glasses guides they have the complete option sets for every make, model and production run of car.

    No problem.

Just as an update to the car, its had/having the following work done to it:

    new front discs (pair)
    new o/s/r tyre
wiring repair to front headlights & indicators
    new coils
    full service & oil change
new rear wiper motor (think this is a fairly common hot-spot with the e46 compacts having read other owner's threads, looks like they get clogged full of crap and seize up easily)
    new lower arms
    battery recharge
repair to airbag sensor (front passenger seat)

I have also asked Arnold Clark to repair the following after having the car checked out independently by JCT600 BMW and it looks like they are going to agree to it -

    rear brake lines
repair to oil leak from sump area
repair to fluid leak from transmission
repair to handbrake and gear lever gaitor

Apart from the above and quite a few age related defects (nowt more than you'd expect from an 04 plate car) the car is apparently in pretty good nick.

Despite enjoying the drive I don't feel i've had the full experience of the rear wheel drive yet due to the play in the suspension, car is noticeably wobbly in corners and at high speed - looking forward to getting it back from arnold clark.
