    hello everyone my name is paul i live in ireland and in the next 7/8 weeks i hope to be the new owner of a e36 4dr m3! hope you guys can help with some q&a over the next few weeks so i dont end up buying a lemon talk to you guys soon.

    thanks for the welcome guys,the vanos seems to be a problem in most m3's.apart from the noises it makes when it needs replacing in what way will it effect the car?

    None..unless it actually fails which I have never heard of.
    The noise will just get louder and louder!!

    Just buy a non evo and be done with it
    The marginal improvement in top end performance (and it is VERY slight and can be the other way round with a good or bad example of the two models) is not worht the dual vanos risks (£1500+)
