Recently bought my first BMW, a '97 E36 323i coupé.
The car is purple and has
- 126,000 miles
- full black leather
- dual zone climate control (that works)
- 17" im presuming fake 'bmw motorsport' alloys with 4 new tyres
- 3g alarm thing?
Engine feels and sounds absolutely perfect considering the miles (i have no idea what is considered high mileage for these cars ? Everything electrical seems to be working fine also.
When I got the car there were a few things that needed attention but nothing serious.
- passenger seat didnt fold to allow access to the rear
- drivers seat bolster had a tear in it
- brake light switch didnt work
- small dent in the drivers door
- cracked near side fog light
So far I have repaired the passenger seat, brake switch and tightened up the loose spoiler.
Having owned the car for 3 weeks now, some other problems have cropped up.
Driving in the snow i noticed the abs/asc wasn't working then i noticed the previous owner had removed the warning bulbs (ha ha).
Took the car to my local garage for an inspection and 3 sensors were replaced but now a bigger problem has arisen in that the ABS pump is not working properly.
The 3g alarm has started to work intermittently the fob works but im pretty sure the receiver isn't picking it up? it seems to work when the car has warmed up (after the alarm going off about 20 times in my street).
Well, apart from all this I really love the car and am hoping to slowly but surely get it up to standard.
