Ey up. Ive been a fan of bimmer's for a long time, and will hopefully will be picking one up in the new year.

What would you recommend for a first BMW. Im quite keen on the compacts, either the e36 or the e46, but when ive mentioned this to friends etc they write em off saying there for women, and hairdressers. Anyways, was wondering if anyone who owns either of these would be able to offer any advice, about which model would be the best to get, and anything else you think I may need to know.

Thats the one ive been leaning towards. Insurance isnt really an issue tbh. Do you reckon I could get a decent one for around 2250-2500?
