Thanks for the info!
I will probably save some pennies and then do things properly (entire system) on the exhaust side of things. I did see the tips in halfords to be honest which is where i got the idea from, but i was gonna get a friend to cut the old pipe off and weld a new one on until i can afford the real thing - I'm no halfords hero lol, but i guess in reality thats just as bad.
I'd love to get a complete new system now, but just paid out for the car, the tax, the insurance (ouch!) and the wheels, so need to slow down otherwise i won't have any money left to put petrol in her at this rate. All in good time i guess.
A little update, don't know if i should have posted a new thread but here goes:
I managed to get a complete leather interior after a lot of hunting (they seem to be quite rare, for a good one anyway).
I treated the worn areas with some liquid leather (thanks to pangster for the advice), and managed to fit the whole lot myself on Sunday (Made sure to disconnect the battery before i started) Really chuffed with the results!
Lost a few fingernails in the process but it was well worth it.
I also got some new tail light clusters. I originally wanted the clear and red ones, but went with the lightly smoked and red ones in the end, i think the smoke matches the paintwork. Be interested to know what people think. Have i done a wrong-un?
Next on the agenda is the Exhaust and lip spoiler, but i might have to wait until after crimble for the exhaust though :-(
Nice little compact you got there Danny, you'd be better off starting a project thread in here mate: http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f82/. Everything from the epic to the mundane can be documented
That's one cool name! Kind of the polar opposite to 'Eugene Blair'.
looks nice keep up the good work
Thanks for the advice avneet07, I may just do that.
Thank you for the kind comments guys.
@ Ash - I have thought about the roof spoiler, but i'm not sure what's involved in fitting?
Reason i say that, is i've got a third brake light at the top of my rear screen at the moment so how does that work with the one built in to the spoiler? Do they do one without the light built in?? On a side note, where did you get your rear mudflaps from?? and did you paint the letters white or did they come like that?
firstly, they do have a brake light in them but when i fitted the spoiler you could still see half of the orginal brake light so didnt bother wiring the spoiler one in. its held on by sikaflex, which holds it to the window, solid!! and the mudflaps i painted the letters white as i thought it would stand out and look very cool. i got them from a neighbour who breaks e36's.
Cool Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll have a little look and see if i can find a spoiler without the brake light, as i'd rather not cover the original brake light if possible, even if it is only a little bit.
I really like the mudflaps though mate. I've gotta get some really with the winter coming. Nice touch with the white lettering.
