    Hi All,

I'm a new member and recently passed my test and always wanted a BMW.
I went for a little E36 316i Compact (1.9L) with 97k on the clock to start with. I'm so pleased with it! It drives so much better than the little Fiesta i learnt in (of course it does! lol)

This looks to be a great forum and i've learnt a lot about my car already from a number of different posts/people on here. Hope i can return the favour/s one day!

I've uploaded a few pics (hope they work) and will upload more as i change bits on the car - wheels etc.

    Speak soon

    Danny

    Thanks Guys.

Got some 18" MV2's on her now
Can't believe how much it's transformed the car

Also put some new number plates on as the old ones weren't straight and then gave her polish. Feeling so proud right now

Thanks guys! i'm definitely interested in coming to some meets, although i'm not sure if she's meet-worthy just yet though after seeing some of the cars on this forum. Love the dedication and attention to detail people on here give there motors

I'm after some red and clear tail lights next, possibly a small boot lip spoiler and i gotta do something about the pea-shooter exhaust, even if i just replace the tip for now.
Can anyone recommend reputable supplier/s for these items? I'm not a big fan of flea-bay

    Welcome Danny,

You don't have to drive a show winner to come to a meet! (I don't!) although it helps if it has a round badge with blue and white quarters on it!

I am based in south bucks (bout 30 mins drive away from you) and I am going to my first meet tomorrow evening. and there is another on sunday evening at bluewater anyhew see the 'South East Meets' threads for details.

Look forward to seeing you around!

    **Edit**

I guess Halfords is a good starting place for small mods like exhaust tips, spoilers etc. Also it might be worth having a look in the for sale section here. Some of the vendors we have might be able to point you in the right direction better than I can...enjoy

Decide if you want the whole thing or just the backbox or whatever your budget will allow then check out some local suppliers and go visit their shop to see the work, shop around and get yourself the best deal, make sure you try and knock some cash off. I had a custom made backbox with twin 3" pipes made and fitted for £175 which was just fine for me, not the cheapest but a very nice job from a well regarded local firm. I'd have to say steer away from those crappy Ripspeed ends from Halfords*, they are just the pits dude. Even consider a breakers and pick something up from another car that would fit, could be a cheaper option, especially if you fancy fitting it yourself.

That's a clean looking compact too, welcome.

*no offense meant to the poster above me, I hadn't read your reply there it's just my own feeling on tips.

No Offense taken! Just thought if its a stop gap until he replaces the back box/entire system properly, they are only about £15.

    Can be a [temporary] bargain!
