Passed my test 2 days before my 19th birthday and got myself an e46 320d, been driving it for about 2 months now and i've got to say i love it!
However, i really feel like i could be doing a fair bit to my car to make it look nicer!
so I need some ideas! any suggestions are welcome!
    I'm thinking new wheels first?

You probably already know this, but I wouldn't go too crazy, because at your age, insurance companies love to rip you off! lol

New wheels, perhaps a lowering kit at some point, a few M-Tech items perhaps just to 'sport' it up a little. Looks quite good as it is though too, nice buy
If everything seems fine, then you probably haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.

Yeah that's what I was thinking mate :(
Insurance is a ******* as it is, I'm paying upwards of 4grand a year to insure it at the moment! Think I'm just going to do a few aesthetic mods and then maybe in a year or two start trying to get a bit more horsepower out of it

    How much???!!

Fair play lad, I was in a 1.3 escort at that age! There are plenty of cars on here to get inspiration from when you fancy a few mods .

To be fair I was paying £4,500 at 19 myself, but on an R32 GTR Skyline! Insurance has gone up CONSIDERABLY in the last 10 years!

The first mod you should do is to remove the swirl flaps if you haven't already
Then I would start with some nice alloys they can make all the difference to how a car looks
    Nice car btw

If you do a search on google it will show all sorts of horror storeys
    http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...-flaps*-t5537/
But in short when one fails it drop the flap or just part of it a screw into the engine this then trashes the engine and as a final fling it spits it into your turbo killing that easy fix is to remove them and replace it with blanks lots of info on here about them and most if not all derv owners on here will recommend removing them ASAP
