Thought it was time I formally introduced myself to this site, as it seems the done thing and only polite.
Previously I have run either a Corrado VR6 or Elise S160, both driven in anger on the weekends, at uk tracks and the nordschleife. The VR I still have and don't think i will ever sell, to much history!!
The ring was the main driver for my purchase of an M3, the vr6 and elise both lacking a little power for the drags up the long straights, but also the call for a well balanced front engined rear wheel drive track/road machine
Have been to the ring for the past 5 years in succession an M3 was the obvious choice, and following that the e36 in particular, in spent many a year on my bed room as a youngster and probably got more attention that the various hotties also on the wall
So having purchased an 3.0l M3 already stripped and roll caged I spent the winter and spring upgrading her, which started with an engine conversion as number 4 cylinder was knocking (known on purchase) Chris @ CR Mtech provided the new lump, a 3.2l evo block, but I kept the 5 speed box as its lighter than the 6 speed, and weight reduction in this project is key!!
I fitted fully adjustable suspenson, camber top mounts, adjustable rear camber arms etc I left the brakes as stnadard but purchased xp10 carbo tech brake pads, which are awesome! Final and best mod was a full geometary setup by thorny motor sport, I thourghly recommend it.
I must say a massive thanks to Enda from End tuning, who helped with an EWS I to EWS II issues and a re map at the same time.
Last weekend was our yearly trip to the ring, and was thoroughly impressed with the power delivery, poise and balance the m3 delivered, and looking forward to many more years on fun, and gt3 harrasing 8.25b2g was best lap ha ha just brilliant.
