    Hi All.
I'm soon to be an Alpine White E92 M3 owner!
I Live on the Isle of Man, and have had loads of BMW's starting years ago with an E30 325i in Cosmos Blue, an E36 320i in Grey, E46 323ci Convertible in Silver, E46 M3 manual in Imola Red, an E46 M3 SMG in Black, an E60 M5 in Black (amazing car but too costly to run!)

After the M5 I economised a bit with a Ford Focus ST, with a mountune kit.. but couldn't resist going one higher so I've currently got a Diamond White Ford Focus RS Mk2 with the Mountine 350BHP kit to take it to RS500 Specs.
That's being traded in next Thursday for a White E92 M3 Coupe with MDCT. It's the car I've wanted since they came out, but they're now about in my price range.
It's got pretty much every option possible, which is fantastic.. But I really like to tinker with cars so I'll be looking to carry out a few mods.
I'm not going to go totally '2 fast 2 furious' with it, but I'm thinking along the lines of swapping the older idrive controller for the newer one.. I've read that it can be done.
I am also thinking of possibly adding a K&N filter and possibly a Miltek exhaust or something similar. I've seen a great looking one on Ebay with burnt blue tailpipes for £500.. but £500 seems way too cheap for an M3 exhaust.
I just want to improve the sound slightly, without sounding like a total boy racer.

I've got piano black individual trim in this car as well, although I'm tempted to swap that for the titanium coloured metal trim, as I quite like that. Not really decided yet, especially as I haven't even got the car yet!

Do people chip these cars? I never chipped my E46 M3's, so I don't know how successful it is. I don't want to sacrifice 5 mpg of economy for 1bhp more, but it would be nice to be on a par with the RS I'm about to trade in, as that's got phenomenal torque. (too much for front wheel drive actually).

So, I'll probably be on here asking all sorts of questions from now on, as and when I start meddling with things.

    Cheers,
    Glyn.

Thanks. could you suggest a popular one for me to start with? I've been out of the M market for a couple of years now so I've lost track of who's doing what.
