    Hi,

I'm Paul and i'm from Birmingham

I don't currently have a BMW but i'm saving and planning on getting a New shape 630i, or depending on what sort of prices the 635d's are at when im ready to buy one of them.

Always like BMW's my dad and sister both have 318s, and my dad had a couple of 520s when i was a bit younger.

only main quetion i have is on the 630, the internet says a combined MPG of about 30, i wanted to knwo if that was accurate, i'm happy for it to be 30 but if thats not easily achievable then i should really go for the diesel.

    many thanks

    Paul.

    Hi Paul

    Welcome to the forum!!

regarding your question, the simple answer is NO
the 30mpg combined they show is at a very optimum test (no A/C constant speeds, no extra electronics etc...... you get the picture)

realistically you would get about 20% less then they state, so 24mpg give or take

this goes for all manufacturers not just BMW
    2010 E93 320d M-Sport (White + Red Leathers)
Pro Nav with Telematrics, Harman Kardon, Comfort Access, Adaptive lights,
Heated seats, Auto Heaters on Timer, Folding Dimming Mirrors (with remote folding)
and every box that i could tick to say it is FULL LOADED

    thanks for the welcome,

yes i guessed you would say 30mpg would be difficult to achieve, i'm definatly going to get a 6 series though, just wished the diesl ones came out a couple of years earlier as they would be cheaper now

    Mate, firslty welcome

If you're buying a 6 then you're probably buying for the looks, no?

Then don't worry so much about the fuel, just enjoy the motor

the looks are part of it, but still don't want to be filling up every few days,

ill see whats avaliable when im ready to buy one, might have to wait till november, to get 6 years ncb, as will make insurance a bit cheaper.

    thanks all.
