    Hi all,

I've joined this forum in hope I can do some research before I go ahead and buy a 2000 (W reg) M5 5.0 V8 manual. I've attempted the search here but it doesnt return anything in particular on the car, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on pro's/con's, general faults and anything else i might need to know about these cars before I part with cash!

    Thanks,

    Tom.

Generally known to be a good solid car but make sure that you have a good read of service history. Check for such things like if it's been serviced at an Indy garage and what oil they used, some tend to sometimes use the wrong type of engine oil on occassions and M// engines don't respond well resulting in engine wear/power loss. These engines are designed to use one type of oil throughout there existance(it is a motorsport engine afterall). If it's always been serviced at a Bmw garage or perhaps a specialist the engine should be fine.

    Welcome to the site mate

Great choice of car, best of luck in finding a good one. There may be some reviews of interest on the Parkers site here - http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/owners...spx?range=342#
