    Hi There,

Picked up my 98 528 Touring on saturday and so far i'm very pleased with it. Never had a 5 before, but always loved friends cars. So i went for a Tourer as i wanted something that i can fill up with gear + dog, and can eat up the miles in comfort.

Mine has done 96k miles and has a full service history, all at bmw bar the last two services which were at specialists. This car has been really cared for (only had one owner!), it's like new on the inside and only has the usual car park dings on the outside that you would expect for a car of this age.

I couldn't believe how solid she seemed when i took her for a test drive and that still holds true, the build quality on these old bimmers is fantastic, no rust anywhere. The engine is quiet unless provoked and the gearbox is silky smooth.

I've only got a few jobs to do on it, the passenger and drivers door handles really squeek - i presume this is a common problem and can be resolved by lubricating the right areas?
The off-side rear electric window isn't working correctly, the motor drops it an inch and no more, i read that this is a simple fix?
The rear number plate needs replacing as its a bit grotty.
I also want to replace the alloys on it as the its only got 15" (maybe 16", havent checked?) ones on there, tho i do like the comfy ride on those big rubber rings! But it needs some 17" BMW alloys on there, i want a set from the same era so it suits the car. Has anyone got pics of larger wheels on their Tourer i can have a look at?

Here's a pic of the barge, only got a phone one atm, will upload some more soon:

    Thanks for looking!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yeah it's got to be 17's me thinks, i like the split 5 spokes like yours, there seem to be a few variants? I saw a split rim set on BM Autosport that look nice, expensive tho.
