I was going to have one built by a custom exhaust company as i have been struggling to find an off the shelf S/S system for 320d Touring. Do you know of any i have found S/S de-cat pipes but that is about it?

    HI All

I have just purchased a mint 2003 320D touring , with the full sport pack. I am picking it up on sunday, it has FSH and has had a new turbo fitted less than 6 months ago with all receipts.

It put my mind at ease a bit as this seems to be the major issue with this particular car, i must admit i have only ever owend one other BMW a 525i Sport on a J plate , and am a biker at heart but due to a recent accident where a young lady decided not to look and pull out in front of me leaving me with a broken forearm , borken shourlder , broken ribs and broken back i have decided that perhaps it is time to get back in a car. What beter way of doing this than to purchase what will hopefully be be a fantastic buy.

I have a silver 2003 320 D Touring SE , it has 87000 on it with FSH and a new turbo as stated above , the body work is mint and so is the interior withthe sport seats in grey cloth.

Is there anything that i should be looking out for? ill be taking into a mate garage for checking when i get it home.

What sort of milage realistically should i expect both around town and on the motorway? i have been reading reviews and it seems a mixed bag of opinion.

Can anyone advise on do's and don't please , when i have it here ill upload some picks of her

    Kind regards

    Hi Mate,

Well the first thing I checked personally was the state of the EGR valve and then the Swirl Flaps. My car has done 198,000 and the swirl flaps were all slightly loose but had not lost the screws yet so i swapped them out for the Blanking plugs. Also i spent a fair amount of time cleaning the EGR and Inlet Manifold of the horrid coke/oil vapour goo is the best description. Also checked i had the updated Vortex type crank case breather. All of the above there are guides on this forum on how to do the jobs. Saying that i am not sure if your model had the swirl flaps?

Now I am just getting it ready for MOT and whilst I have got it in my mates work shop I am going to be doing a full service. This is with a pipercross Panel Filter, Oil Filter and Fuel Filter and I have gone for the Mobil1 Oil from Costco.

Also for the MOT I have just had a pair of Falken FK452's put on the front and will be doing the rears when they are required to the same tyre brand and make.

Then I can start having some fun with it by very tasteful and simple mods.

But great to see another Diesel owner out there.
