Are we sure mine doesn't have a CDV?
See if you can find item no. 15 HERE on your car.

I'll have a look at the weekend in the workshop, because it's frankly too cold outside (I never work on it when it's cold, I'm not hardcore enough :-))

Is that lot on the master cyl or under the car on the side of the gearbox/clutch arrangement?

The CDV is located under the car just next to the gearbox under passenger's side. In your case, you will probably just have a union fitting.

Maybe I oughta just bite the bullet and uprate the clutch - and to be honest my future plans include boost........

If you do decide on that JP, I have heard good things about UUC Stage 2 performance clutch kits

Cool - I'll make a note of that.

I have been known to do daft things with cars and eat beans on toast for months to pay the bills :-)

Are ESS the supercharger of choice?

Yes, they are good. You might also want to check out Active Autowerk and Vortech superchargers as well.

another one on the list :-)

I'm a turbo diesel man really - just taking a break from the dark side to play with petrol a bit :-)

Superchargers are new to me, I know turbos inside out and was thinking about turbo-ing the bimmer, but seems too pricey and like it might be extra lame compared to a supercharger kit :-)
