    Hi everyone,

I've just arranged to collect my first BMW on Saturday. It's only a 316 which I plan to use as a runaround for the next few months, but BMWs have always appealed to me, and I hope this car is a good introduction to the ownership experience.

I don't plan to modify the car at all (I'm not sure if this forum is into that kind of thing or if generally standard is best...I'm off to have a look around now and get a feel for the place).

I also own a Honda Civic which I am rebuilding to be a weekend car/track toy and possibly enter some races next year with it.

    Anyway...hi.

Standard/modified It sure doesn't matter just so long as it has a blue and white roundell on it

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

Slight change of plans...I've been offered a Honda Prelude with a load more equipment, same mileage, and excellent price, so I'll be going for that instead.

I'll still float around here though, as the Prelude won't last forever and I'll likely replace with a more modern BMW. I always loved the previous generation M3's (E46) so I hope I'll be in a position in 6 months time to afford one.

and for Ian S: The Civic I've got is a VTi 5door, with the 1.8 B18C4 engine in it (167bhp). I've stripped out the interior, sunroof, sound deadening etc..all it has is a seat and a steering wheel. I've just fitted a 4.4kg Fidanza flywheel. It's a long way from being finished as I want to change the suspension, exhaust, engine remap, fit/paint a roll cage and then do a full service on it :P as well as all the other fiddly bits and bobs that will need doing to make it safe and effective on track. I plan to race in the Nippon race series next year..new series for Japanese cars.
