    its not so bad
i had the same thing happen to me at the start of the year but i managed to find another engine pretty cheaply so i just swapped it its not a hard job at all and it will give you a chance to upgrade some parts whilst the engine is out

out of curiosity how did you pop it?

The car had been sat for some months anyway, got a feeling the rad fan wasnt kicking in. overheated while in traffic... i noticed a water leak at the back of the engine where there is some elbow pipe to the heater matrix, pressure from there and the thermostat housing melted too, so assume something to do with that lot, plus I had no other option but to drive it a bit more, not the best idea, I know!!

I'm not really sure what other parts I can upgrade?! lol

I know its gonna have a new water pump, thermostat, radiator, head faced and skimmed if necessary, new gaskets and new elbow joint.

Gonna see if I can get the rocker cleaned up as well with some gunk, its a bit of a state at the mo!!

    Harsh luck.

You know it'll be reliable afterwards though.

I dont think a sh1t head gasket should make a car an unreliable one. These parts have a "lifespan" really so its just a matter of time on virtually every car.

I agree totally Amos, everything else I love about the car so a little hiccup isn't going to put me off! Its a little more tatty than I first realised but again it not something i'm overly fussed about!! All in good time I will make it look awesome!! :
