    Hi Folks,
First post - I've just picked up my first BMW at the weekend!

    Black 2004 E46 330CI M Sport

51K miles, 2 previous owners, brand new 19" BBS alloys, not a mark on the outside. The owner just tax'd and MOT'd it for the sale - he'd only done 5,000 miles in the three years he's owned it. I've booked it in with a BMW specialist for a full flush of the engine/gearbox/diff oil, brake and coolant fluids, just to be on the safe side.

    What do you guys think?

    Any new-owner tips welcomed

    Cheers!

Hi, I'm new here too, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't flush an engine. The carbon deposits etc fill in the gaps and that's how your engine has learnt to run and how the internal components move with eachother. Flushing it removes the deposits and can cause issues as a result.

    I may be wrong though!

Very Nice Example, Low Mileage, Good Spec, Good Colours, Good wheels, Manual Gearbox

Maybe the M Badge on the back is not quite right.

Got any photos mate? Sounds like a good buy.. I just got myself a silver one a few months ago very very pleased with it, although I've got an intermittent engine light that is slightly annoying.. Be prepared for a few trips to the petrol station, they are thirsty girls :P

    Looking good

Get rid of that M badge on the back.

You don't see that many BBS on e46. Yours really suit. Nice find.
Eibach Sportline springs, Powerflex bushes, 8.5/9.5 19" Matt black VMR V710s 235/265, Carbon fibre badges, 35% tint all around, black front grille, lamin-x tint film on front and rear lights, 55W 7.5k HIDs, Orion V2 halo LED angel eyes, smoked side markers, keyhole delete, K&N panel filter, private plate, bwchiptune ecu remap.

Thanks for the extremely warm welcome guys, I didn't realise the M badge was so controversial!

@kris325ci - that's a good point, I know flushing can be dodgy on older/higher mileage cars but was hoping a German-engineered '04 would handle it OK, I guess I'll just see what the specialist thinks when I take it in. The engine lifters are making a slight ticking noise - did a bit of research and seems to be relatively common and potentially oil-related - that along with the fact it was sitting doing very little for last few years is what put the flushing idea in my head. I want to make sure the engine is as perfect as the bodywork.

    Cheers!

When your car is in getting the fluids changed, it might be worth getting the Garage to read-off any fault codes (if there are any?) and reseted.
