Two weeks ago I took delivery of my first ever BMW ... a 520d M Sport auto (paddle shift) in Alpine White with black/oyster interior, anthracite finewood trim, M Sport suspension, 19" wheels, sat. nav., reversing camera, folding mirrors, and some other bits.
I've already done 1,000 miles and I absolutely love the way it drives. The ride on Michelin RFT tyres and M Sport suspension is nowhere near as firm as I was led to believe from reading reviews and the only issue I have is with the creaking air vent on the rear parcel shelf. It creaks even when stationary if the sun shines (which doesn't happen very often!), so that leads me to suspect it's a case of dissimilar expansion/contraction rates between the plastic vent and the metal shelf. I'm undecided whether to entrust the dealer with a fix. I don't really fancy other people clambering all over the oyster seats so I guess I'll be doing it myself.
Anyway, that certainly doesn't detract from the car ... it's very, very impressive!
