ye thanks, i just read that if the pads wear down too much then the sensor needs replacing, i just called him to ask if he can tell me what the warning light looks like and he is gonna ring me back and let me know, and i just googled what the pad wear light looks like, so if its the same then i should have no probs, he is gonna call me back and let me know in next 20 mins, thanks again, also is this an mot failure?

Nope. As long as the pads them selves are fine it's not a problem.

right he just called me, its the pad wear light for sure, he said when he puts the handbrake down the lights go off so thats fine, also he said when he turns ignition abs light goes on then switches off, so sounds all good. can u tell me where i can purchase the rear pad sensor as i believe it is one on the rear, also is it easy to replace? thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

    Here..http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BM...88463ad4e&WEAI

Easy to replace, if it's the rear it's the O/S (drivers side) iirc. just clips into the top of the pad , follow the wire up and you'll find where it connects to the loom. Unplug the old and plug the new one in. Once fitted, turn the ignition on (not starting the car though) for about 30 secs and the light should reset itself. Some aftermarket pads don't have the cut out thingy for the sensor to fit into though, if this is the case you can either buy pads that do, put up with the light or join the sensor wires together to complete the circuit and get the light out.
