I have never been too sure about BMW’s but have now taken the plunge and purchased a 2002 330Ci Convertible for my commute to work after the company car went back not to be replaced.

Car had only done 40k but first thing was to replace the steering control arms as a bit loose and a couple of belts in the engine bay where on the way out. Had the car just over a month now and had an LPG conversion undertaken by GasTech in Essex. Very happy driving on LPG especially at £0.639 pence per gallon. Had a couple of issues with GasTech more cosmetic than anything but made me cross at the time. As far as the technical aspects of the install seems to be very good, car drives faultlessly and switch from petrol to gas is goes unnoticed whilst driving (after engine warms up).

Awaiting delivery of Mk4 Sat Nav upgrade and ’09 Map disk, about to purchase Intravee II for Ipod connectivity (any thoughts on this would be welcome) and lastly investigating Bluetooth kit from Bimmernav for Bluetooth retrofit. Still not 100% about this and may go more traditional route for Parrot kit install as the Bimmernav option whilst very comprehensive is also pricey, shipping from USA etc etc.

The car needs a bit of TLC, especially the alloys and some repair work to the front bumper but now getting used to driving a rear wheel drive car again, took a bit longer than I thought but so much better after getting the steering sorted out.

Nice to know so many people out there and hope I can contribute in time to the forum in time.

Welcome mate, I had a car just like yours, absolutely brilliant, ran it to over 100,000 miles. The engine is bulletproof. I got 33mpg on a long run, 25mpg on average.

Google 'The Wheel Specialist' to see if they've got a centre near you for wheel refurbing. They did all 4 on my 645, amazing job at reasonable money, and fantastic customer service.

I had a DICE iPod integration kit, worked well for me but others have had problems. Been looking for something similar for my 645 but DICE don't do one, will look at Intravee, but let me know how you get on.
