I've not posted for a while, hence the re-introduction, but I'm hoping you may well be able to assist me & me assist you with whatever the New Year holds.
The 328 (my baby), despite my overhauling the rear axle completely, fitting polybushes all round, lowering springs, new shocks, new brakes and even fitting a new (actually used/replacement) engine, and sufferering two seperate truck attacks last year (a builders van went down every panel on one side while it was parked on a narrow street, followed by an ASDA van doing the exact samething, on the same side a few weeks later, but she survived both attacks) still managed to end the year off the road (despite my best efforts). Sadly she failed the MOT on a couple of minor points, one of which was rear brake pipes (which run over the fuel tank). In order to replace those pipes the rear propshaft, exhaust, heatshields and fuel tank all had to come out, and in doing so the exhaust manifold studs all sheared off (:(). I got that far, she got put to one side and due to work / life / dogs etc. she still stands there waiting for my attention (a couple of months later).
In the meantime we bought a new 1 series diesel (for my Mrs really) but due to the absence of 3 series it's been beasted non-stop by both of us, and...
...and now we have this very day put down a deposit on a very nice X5, 3L diesel (I know... my world is getting a little bit diesely - I still love the poke of the 328, and can't wait until summer to thrash it around, but the months ahead are pure 4 wheels spinning, opposite lock fun in the snow...hopefully).
So, I'm not a newby - many of you have been very helpful in the past with my 328 issues, but I'm now a 1 series newbie and an X5 newbie, hence the post.
Merry Christmas to you all, bring on the snow and let the chaos commence
