    Hello ladies and gents!

I've just joined up and wanted to say hi! I'm technically a liar because I don't actually own a BMW ... but, before the lynching starts, I'm currently in negotiations with a a guy to buy his 1995 E31 840ci Manual. I'm definately going to buy it, despite it not being in the best condition, because it's the 52nd made of 54, and there are only 34 registered in the UK (12 SORN) and I love the 8 series and I'm allergic to automatics!

This is the ad if anyone wants a butchers: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3284007.htm

Love the M-parallels, and the interior doesn't look as horrid in the leather.

    There are issues with it that aren't listed;

Steering wheel is loose (can twist the rubber at the top)
Gear stick has about 3 miles of play
    Sunroof doesn't work
    Wheels need a refurb
Driver's seat is worn through on outboard bolster

But on the plus side, he just spent £1000 getting rid of rusty arches and boot lid and apparently is 'open to offers'.

So, I'm pretty excited about financially ruining myself with a petrol V8, thought you lot might like to pass judgment!

    Cheers

    Tom

Looks like he has put the M6 exhaust on it too.

Is it? He mentioned it wasn't standard, but didn't realise it was M6 ... would that make it fully stainless?

Cheers Neil; yeah I did notice those ... insurance would screw me to the wall on a 50, nearly double that of the 840?! (Where is the logic/justice?!)

Hi Tom, welcome to the forum. It could simply be the exhaust tips as opposed to the whole exhaust system. Best way to find out would be to ask him I guess. I would be interested in what he says so keep us informed!

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

    Cheers Ronnie

I've been told Forum's are pretty helpful, but this place is nuts ... only been on here a few days but I'm so much more confident that I'll be able to fix any issues that come up with the 8!
