    I'm 99% buying it.
The clonking wasnt horrendous, but was evident.

    Vectra sold! yay..

couple of questions for you guys as you really know what youre on about...

323="detuned"...can it be "re-tuned"? if so, how do i do it?

Cruise control...is it do-able? was it an option and can it be retrofitted with bmw parts?

Stereo..blimey, thats big (actress to the bishop..) and very much a casette player..i have a nice sony and ipod that are doing a good job, can i fit that? is there a din converter for the fascia?

that covers most of it, i think....

IIRC the exhaust is more restrictive on the 323i, also a remap will bring you upto power,

As for the cruise control, it was a option but to fit it on yours will probably be ££££, it's not a small job.

Also a plate can be obtained that will cover the large hole left by the stereo and will also house the new one.

Hi,i have recently (3 weeks) bought a 323 ci, v reg. All is wonderful with the car 107K on the clock, but within the last week there was a clunking from the back during gear changes, this got worse while on holiday in Devon so i poped into a local MOT station for them to have a look....

To my horror, the clunkin was the rear subframe pulled right through the floor pan. Now i have been told it is a major job to fix and is a common fault with a 99/00 coupe. The car is now back with the garage i bought it from and they look very concerned......

Just a work of warning, the clunking may be bad....

I wouldn't worry yourself too much. This happens predominantly on coupes...rarely seen on a saloon.
