Awesome Xmak thanks, I want ask though How are you sure my car does'nt have the swirl flaps? It seems to be a bit of confusion with the 330d and can you explain where the breather is? Do you mean air box?

It's on the forum somewhere, but basically the 184bhp m57 engined 330d's the manuals are swirl flap free but the autos have swirl flaps
The 204 bhp m57n engined 330d's all have swirlflaps

I've had my manifold off so can confirm this

Look at my first post there's a guide about the crank case breather should clear up any confusion. Think its a dealer part only the breather.
I get air filter ect from my local car parts shop.

Breather is located on the rear right hand side of the air box see L16YD L's pictorial guide http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...7-330d-t68937/

Oil Breather and/or Oil Separator can be bought from dealers, Euro Car Parts may also sell them?

Service items etc can be purchased from Euro Car Parts, German Swiss French, Andrew Page, BMW Genuine Parts,
BMW Parts Online and of course the dealers themselves. (probably missed a few others as well!)

    And don't forget L16YD L's pictorial guide on servicing your 330d http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...0d-m57-t68424/

btw Xmak I think its going to worthwhile sorting out an E46 diesel owners reference thread listing links to swirl flaps, breather parts etc.
then just point new members to it
