Hi, Last time I was on this site is when I had my Petrol 328i Now I'v just bought a 2002 330d I beleive it's the 184BHP as it only has 5 dears and was made before 03 anyhow I know the controversy with the whole to remap or not to remap but can anyone give me some idea of reasons to do it? I know I would like a 230BHP monster but at what expense will the clutch slip? Will the engine be put under too much strain?

I hope some of you guys who have remapped there bm can give me an idea of what I have to face if I go for it

See ya! P.S Lovin the car!

They have an unfortunate habit of falling into and destroying the engine.Check if yours has them and fit blanking plates instead

Yeh swirl flaps are nasty but lucky as yours is a manual 184bhp m57 engine 330d you don't have them

Engine breather needs checking and or changing look on the how to guides section of the fourm to show you how.
Edit breather guide (for 320d but just the same as 330d) http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...0td-or-t15944/
The same fourm member who made that guide has done how to clean egr valve guide as well, worth you looking at that too

Ha ha yeh yours too mate!

Do look into the breather thing if there over looked and block up it can lead to the turbo dieing= ££££
But looked after should be fine (do more often oil changes than BMW say) mines at 159400ish miles and still going strong!
