    Hi Guys,

Just purchased an e39 530d sport, manual in black with a tad over 90k on the clock and full BMW history. (One owner from new as well ) as I'm doing more miles so my Civic Type R has to go! :(

Pick it up next Saturday! Test drove it and couldn't believe how refined it was, absolutely loved it! Soon as you hit 2k the turbo hits and it just pulls through it's rev range smoothly

Anyway, was just wondering what should I be doing to the car and checking over? Any nic, easy additions that are worthwhile? I think I will want to remap it, is this ok at 90k as it is in really good condition and has been looked after and serviced ok etc? Who do you reccomend to use on my e39?

Thanks for all your help guys

    Ryan

Also I would like to get my iPhone/iPod connected to the business cd player, how easily is this done? And can it be controlled via the steering wheel controls?

Have a really thougher look at the cooling system. Probably weakest link and biggest engine killer. If in slightest doubt, flush it out and fill with good brand anti-freeze. My son has had to have two new core plugs in head thanks to corrosion.

Do you know what BHP it should be? There were a few different versions about.
Swirl flaps and breathers would be worthwhile checking out.

You can get ipod controllers that will be able to put song titles on the dash or screen, but they always are a little clunky
They'll pace the place of a cd changer, so you'd need one of them first.

I believe the manuals don't have swirl flaps? And it is the last of the E39 so I believe it is the 190 bhp version

all 3ld had swirl flaps up till 2003 2004 didn't they? my mate bought an e60 530d on a 2006 and said he was lucky as the older 1s had swirls(old type) so if the e60s had them i would have thought so did the e39. welcome and i am in envy, get some pics up mate.
