    Hi Guys,

Alwayz been an Audi man (is that swearing in this forum), but when i took the 335i for a spin i had to buy it. Nothing bad to say so far, its awesome!.

Looking at upgrading Sat Nav and Idrive software for the bluetooth capabilities with my GalaxyS2 for media control from the idrive. Hoping to find some info on here as i currently know very little about this car.

Cheers and looking forward to viewing this forum.

I'll post some pics when i have had time to wash and polish it.

    Hi Mate,

Thanks for the welcome but im wondering whether or not it is a great choice of car! change my mind please! From the moment i picked it up ive had trouble with battery warning light coming on and shutting down electrical components. Been in for a new alternator and i still have the same problem. Garage said they would sort it but waiting for call back. all this as took 5 weeks so far and 7 days of that they have had the car for repair.

Now found out the the engine rattle could be the wastegates on the turbo's. the warranty i purchased with the car doesn't cover the turbos. I have yet to approach the garage about it. When i queried the noise they told me it was normal for this car.

Its a lovely car but ive had nothing but problems and im really worried as i fear the garage will wash their hands when i approach them about it. At this moment im beginning to wish i bought the Audi TTS or is that swearing in this forum. Its my first BMW and was expecting something special in the 335i.

    restore my faith please

It may be requiring a new battery, which needs coding to the car to prevent strange warnings. Have they fitted one, or has one been fitted in the past and not recoded ?

The turbo issue would have been present when you bought it, so irrespective of the warranty period, you will be covered under the sale of goods act. Is it throwing any EML lights when it rattles ? If it's the turbo's then they go into limp home mode, so don't panic yet.

Lastly, get it re-mapped, and then discover what the 335i is all about. TTS ? Where did that go, oh yeah, it's about 300 yards behind

lol.... i know these are great cars but just getting sock of the problems.

Still got original OEM battery. See my other posts about re-demister not working.... its still an on going saga.

Im am worried about the turbos though. Its not trowing any warnings yet but the rattle is a pain in the ass. I know they gonna say thats its normal like they have already but whats my argument? We know its a BMW design fault but how can i get them to change the turbo's at such an high expense.

Ive been looking at re-maps but not sure where to go and get it done....Thorney Motorsport seem to have done some indepth testing in this area. Who do you recommend?

I wouldn't go there for a re-map personally, there are some stories floating the net which may be worth googling.

I had mine done by MotechMike, a forum vendor with excellent results. There are other approved forum vendors on here with experiences of 335i's. Personally I would go with one of these
