It takes quite a special bit of kit to clock motors these days. I worked with a guy who done time for clocking cars for a living, although I didn't actually find that bit out until he left the company as he had a fall out with the Boss

We used to have to do Speedometer correction on Jap imports as they needed transferring from kilometers to MPH.

    UPDATE

I finally managed to get my deposit back from the first car last night

After driving 100 miles from Oxford to Essex to pick up the £500 in cash (as arranged in a phone conversation) I arrived to find a cheque waiting for me. After an argument, I left assured I would get my money once it had cleared.

Last night I checked my bank balance and the cheque had bounced. I wasn't overly supprised it had bounced it pretty much summed up my experience with the motoring company.

Anyway, I rang them up (afterall legitimate car companies normally still work at 8pm on Fridays don't they?) and after a few choice words were exchanged he agreed to IBT the money to my account. 10 minutes later it was in my account along with an appology for messing me around.

Anyway it's just as well the money went in as I picked up this Evo on Thursday.

It was on ebay but I went and saw the owner and arranged a deal and took it away.

It's done just over 100k, full BMW service history, long tax and MOT and 1 owner in it's history. Hasn't got the leather interior but it's so tidy i'm not fussed

    Pics care of Ebay.

    Ouch!
That sounds like nearly an expensive loss...

Can you PM me the name of the motor company so I can put out warnings if I see them dealing with anyone on here...

dont post the name though please as legally we could be in hot water!!

on to your new car.....it looks a real sweetie

Leather is not a reason to buy a car as it can be added...much better to get a nice example with cloth than a shed with leather!!

    and that one looks sweet

In my favourite colour as well.!
