Have always wanted a bmw and the following opportunity has come my way:

friend is selling his 2001 325d touring 3ltr. (sport or SE) automatic leather interior metallic blue. FSH

it has 200k on the clock, when he bought it 6 month ago it had gearbox issues (and was dormant for about a year before he bought it) he had it reconed now good as new. Also new tyres brakes and battery. K&N air filter (gone from 18mpg when he got it to 30mph round town).

Is it worth it/ whats it worth, my heart is shouting louder than my head so need a sanity check please.

he wants to sell it as new baby need x5 (sells car in spare time)

Hi d4ddyp and Welcome to the forums

SE is quite a different look to the Sport, usually the Sport carries the higher premium.

200k is high mileage even with fsh so you'd have to factor in how many miles you'd put on it and would you want to sell it on when you'd finished with it.

"Is it worth it or whats its worth" you'd have to check autotrader or ebay?

fair point, and many things have been replaced, even if you only got a year or 2 / 60k mile out of it then... :-)

fair point, seems to be about the 3.5k mark for 130k miles but then you could have hidden surprises.
