Gun it about a bit and check for smoke, or signs of high oil consumption (like spills from a top up 5 mins before you arrived)

The trailing arm bushes are pretty easy to do if you use powerflex/polybushes, the hardest bit is getting the old ones out by cutting and drilling away at the rubber.

I read the common problems section and I'm slightly.put off tbh. Are some of the older ones really that bad? I'm looking at one 328i sport coupe 98 and a 323i coupe 98

i have a 98 323 and its been a journey but mainly bodywork ive done due to muppets who owned it before

replaced front, rear droplinks, bushes, brakes, tyres, bumpers, bonnet but just general stuff any car would fail on.

very easy to work on and with the m50 inlet manifold and remap 220 plus easy on a 328
