....125D M Sport and can't wait for it to be built

    Hi all, how goes it...

After 5 years of Impreza ownership I can't believe that I'm now moving on!

I've owned a fair few motors in the last 20 years, some greats in there and no BM's owned until now, when we'll have 2 by September lol! I've dropped in some pics of the old fleet below

    Current - 2004 WR1 Impreza
    Previous
    '01 WRX Impreza Bugeye
    '02 Boxster S
    '02 S2000
    '04 Civic Type R
    '00 Integra Type R
    '06 VW Golf GTi
    '06 Lexus IS250
    '08 Lexus GS450H
    '05 A3 3.2V6 Quat
    '98 306 Gti-6
    '03 Octavia VRS
    '04 Jag X-type

My wife bought a 520D SE a few weeks back, and I've had a bit of 'new car' envy if you know what I mean lol! It got me thinking about how much it's been costing me to run my WR1 and that I've got a knackered knee spoiling the fun of driving my WR1! Only went to look at the car with no intention of buying, but due to cracking finance rates and residuals the BM makes economic sense that could not be matched with Subaru and the BRZ or the GT-86 from Toyota both cars I've been looking at.

    So now I wait!
    125D

Roll on September - can't wait
    Cheers
    Matty

Nice WR1 mate, I also went from JDM to BMW, as I used to own an RB5 & a Mitsi Evo 8 amongst others.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience of bmw ownership

The RB5 is pretty special mate, and the only time I see them is at shows

There's not a lot of WR1's kicking about, but oddly there's another on the Industrial Estate I work at lol! No escaping for me

Just can't wait until I get the 1 series, it's a bit of a torque monster!!

Another former RB5 (non PPP though, sorry) owner here.
Decent car but pretty horrendous running costs.
Mine is most likely dead as I did a quick check and it's not been taxed for a number of years now

The running costs are deceptive with the Scoobs, it was when I sat down and looked at it all over 3 yrs that I realised I could have a new motor and still save money!!! Crazy... but then the WR1 is pretty nuts to drive, and can live with more more exotic motors Not sure the 125 will do the same, but it should make me laugh with all that torque available so low in the rev range

Maybe your old RB is tucked up in someones collection? Many are stored on a SORN for the future

Never expected it to pan out how it has - but I've managed to sell the WR1 privately now and have a confirmed delivery for the 1 series!!!

    Roll on September 1st
