    Hi,

Thought i'd introduce myself as i will be frequenting the forums a bit now. I'm 22 living in Edinburgh. I've been after a BMW for a while and due to my job (work at an engine reconer) i've the opportunity to buy one. I've been driving a 98 1.8 TD Ford Escort till now (which has some brilliant memories lol)

Providing i do buy it lol, it's a 97 (P plate) 520 I SE, all the toys in it. Midnight blue with alloy's 1 year's MOT and 1 years tax, 105K on the clock for £1000 (i secured a deal on £500 for my escort too)

We just did a load of work on it, new calipers, suspension, discs & pads and serviced the engine so it's good to go. Thing doesn't have a bit of rust on it although there is a bit of a scrape on the rear bumper but seeing as we have a respray shop i can get that sorted for nowt.

I'm thinking of some new alloys for it, the M5 spoiler and M5 front bumper (thread already in the tech section!) that would be it just for the time being unless there are some MUST do mods etc....

What do you think though ?

its already been dechromed mate, thats a result. It might be worth a call to BMW to see if it had the sports suspension fitted at the same time.

    MAny welcomes by the way

Just a question to any other 520 owners - what sort of MPG are you getting out of them ?

    Cheers

    Hello again,

Just following up but as of today i now own a BMW

Discovered earlier today that the car is also fitted with the M5 steering wheel with the multi colour stitching

Spent a few hours cleaning it today and will spent most of tomorrow cleaning it up more and fixing a few bits - the power socket doesn't work etc...

    Better pics to follow
