im jim, never owned a bmw im more of a japanese car fan and ive owned alsorts 1 extreme to another, currently got my little frenchy series 1 106 track car

signed up on here rather early basicly im looking at getting myself an e36 m3 next summer, ideally a 3.2 evo but i would settle on a normal m3 if i can find one in the rare dakar yellow, thought i would get myself aquainted with them early and see what i need to be looking for when buying, servicing costs, etc... not bothered about driving to and from work so fuel bills dont scare me and ive already checked on the insurance side,

basicly i started looking at e36 m3s as a second car to have some luxury and comfort and some oldskool bmw class when im fed up in uncomfy fixed bucket seats and harnesses i can park the little pug up and use the m3 for comfortable journeys, but then the crazy me as per usual started browing for rollcages and other goodies so its just going to be yet another car with cage and bucket seats, as i say i dont need it for work so its not an issue, ive moved away from jap turbos in the hope i could get 99 percent reliability from an e36 m3 with just breathing mods compared to your lancer evo 5s, 200sx's etc...., and i cant be doing with always having trouble again like i did before after a good track session lol.

obviously i expect problems and expensive faults here and there, it will be my 1st rwd car im only used to fwd and 4wd turbo so i will be extra carefull to not end up like the yuppys in the 80s with the e30s lol.

anyway i will be sure to stick around any help would be appreciated

    cheers
    james

Welcome and good luck in your search! I haven't seen a factory yellow painted e36 M3 in the UK, but then again I don't see a lot of e36 M3's down in Portsmouth. If you are looking for luxury and comfort, and want to stay clear of rollcages and bucket seats, why don't you look at e39 5 series or e38 7 series. They have a similar design as the e36 as they are from the same period. And also they are probably more luxurious.

Well, I've searched for a yellow M3 and there was none! There was only an e36 yellow 318iS M3 replica. There's a few of those vile green/yellow vomit colour e46 M3. But I've found this race track M3 for sale. It's blue in colour and from Ireland.
