    Hi,

I've just joined this forum as we are on the lookout for an E46 330d. Both of us are new to the world of BMWs as we have always had Performance Fords before. (Dare I say that on here?)

I currently own a Focus ST3 & co-drive in forest rallies in our Escort Cosworth.

This looks a really good forum, with tons of info on BMWs. It's my other half who will be driving the 330d mainly but I just love to find out all I can about any car we own.

One quick question.......is the chassis number engraved directly onto the strut top or is it on a plate?

    Thanks for reading.

    Hi RallyJane,Welcome to Bimmerforums.co.uk..........

The chassis number is stamped in by the windscreen. It may also be on the strut mount and is in various other places on the body too and on other objects in the car too

Hi and welcome along to Bimmerforums.co.uk.

You can also find the VIN and engine code on the VIN sticker which is usually behind the headlight or on the inner wing.
