I'm chris. I live in Devon just outside Torbay. I've just ditched the 1999 318i SE saloon I've had since 2006 (run it up to 214k miles.
Now have a Black 2004 330d M Sport Coupe. Massive step up in performance and looks although at times I miss the comfort of the SE ride. Seems to be fine apart from a slightly loose drivers window and the trip reset doesn't work. It's going into my regular specialist independent BMW garage tomorrow for a full service. Assuming all goes well I'm looking forward to a few years of great driving and with a 75 mile round trip commute the diesel is definitely the way forward.
My 318 returned around 30mpg and the 330 is giving around 42mpg so big saving there. ( A38 nice run but loads of hilly sections )

The 18" alloys could do with being refurbed (been quoted £45 per wheel by locally recommended firm) but I will wait till spring when the gritting lorries have gone, don't want them coated in salt all winter after refurbishing them.
I don't have any plans to mod it at all ( I would have if I was 10-20 yrs younger )
as none of the local garages will do a fit for the led angel eyes kits and I'm not savvy mechanically to DIY it

    Cheers.
    Chris.

Welcome Chris, I'm new here too. Well, I joined a year ago but only just got a 320d!

I'm not technically savvy either but saw an 'angel eyes kit' installed on youtube and it looks fairly easy, doesn't it always??

Hi & welcome to this excellent forum Chris's..

I love the ride comfort on my 330 Ci SE, have fitted 18" AC Sch Reps so I get slightly more jolts than when my car is on 17" rims.

I have 6,000K angel eyes fitted, took approx an hour for each headlight & not too difficult on my 2002 pre-facelift e46....not sure if your later models will fit in the same way, but I don't see why not.
