So picked up my new motor on tuesday from Enfield from John Pye and Sons Auctioneers.
The car was advertised as damage to o/s rear quarter, I thought easy little job that and made her mine £1663 04 0n a 53 plate !
Jacked it up to get the A Bar underneath and spotted oil pouring out of the side of the engine and bits of the internal on the external.
Theres a big hole where number 1 piston has tried to escape and this model comes with a gudgeon pin on the cross member with its old freind the piston but he,s in bits over this.
ENGINE NEEDED IF ANYONE@S GOT ONE ?
My second question would be where is the engine code ? I have stripped the covers off and air intake to get to the right hand side of the block but can't see them.
BMW has told me i have a a M47N fitted so whats the M47TUD20 AND THE M47TU2D20 referance ??
How do i know which BHP my car is with only a a M47N code. AS according to BMW these were fitted between 2001-2005 so does the BHP increase lay with the ECU and not the Mechanics ?

I have two missing on pots 1 and 3 Not sure why pot three seems to be ok as she still starts and will tick over on 3 cylinders. Theres life still in her !!!
May be a big tin of E-Metal and run it as a 1500cc Eco
