hi, recently purchased a 2003 525d , had it a few weeks and really impressed with the build quality and performance. Blue with a beige interior and some unusual alloys ( BMW badged )I had the older model 518 many years ago and that was good. My new beemer is a work horse for my kitchen business and have already built a large plywood liner to go in the back with the seats down to try and protect the interior from my tools.
my other vehicles are a 06 merc clk that ive had from new, a 28 yr old xr4i ive had for 15 years and 3 kawasaki's. Im used to life on bike forums but never been on a car forum before
i want to add an Ipod link to the car and the kits that are on ebay that connect in via the cd auto changer seem to be favourite , unless anyone has some better suggestions / experiences.
the car has done 110 000 miles and the suspension feels very jelly like , no where near as good as my old 518 ride feel. dont think there is a broken spring but maybe new shocks are in order, im seeing monroe ones for £150 pair, is this the way to go or are there other components to consider/ air suspension ?? the car really does dont seem to like speed bumps, no bad noises , just seems to lurch over them and not settle straight away.
any advice would be great , thanks
