Hiya everyone im quite new with bmw's. Im a mechanic but not had much to do with BMW'S so if i ask some daft questions im sorry . Ive just got a 1997 316i E36 Compact its not road worthy yet as the person i got it off had the engine out and changed crank shells but thats as far as he got because of lack of time and effort. Hopefully i finish it and run it ill try and get pictures up when i can also im wanting it not to look all square on front end, I was wondering if i can get newer 3 Series front end for it or something like that??

    Thanks Danny

hi danny and welcome...doesnt matter if youve not much experiance of beemers,,im sure you will help someone out sooner or later....and thers plenty off people on here who know plenty,so dont be afraid too ask,,not sure off the answer too your front end question...think it would be difficult too change the shape off your front end without major mods and major money!!anyway i genuinely dont think thers anythn wrong with the sqaurer shape compact.

it shouldnt cost too much as its had the work done already just needs putting back together. As for the front end its not me that wants to change it, its my girlfriend but she likes new bmw's and thinks i can make it look like a new one. Its my car though so its staying as it is . Its just got a few problems which are drivers door doesnt open and need a new thermostat housing for it and theres a dent on o/s rear quarter but apart from that its fine
