    hi all am new here dident see a newbie section so thought id post here im planning on getting a e34 with one intention to turbocharge it. but am torn beetween wich one 525i m50 which ive read is a better head or 535i m30 which has more cc but only a 12v head i will be running after market managment[k3] but would like to see what the standard internals will take your feedback and experiance/suggestions will be much appreciated

    Hi, I'd do the turbo conversion to a M50 myself, the M30 is a heavy old slug but a turbo would liven it up a bit, M50's go well with turbos bolted on, you could look into a supercharger as a different option to a turbo.

    Keep us posted and post a pic up of the car you finally get.

    If this helps at all... my friend (who recently passed away) swore on the M50 over the M30 as he actually got rid of his 535i for the exact reason you asked. (think he prefered the M50 anyway as he rebuilt one from the pan upwards lol)

    cheers i know the m50 is just like most modern engines so will be east to play with is there a bigger version of it ive seen a 2.8 i think but not sure if it is the same
