    hi guys can anybody advise me where to search to find out what speed and gear delivers the best MPG for motorway driving (extended long distance) my car is a 2006 535D M-Sport auto. Cheers!

    Hello and welcome, Love the 535d's

    And the answer to your question. 50 - 60 mph in top gear without cruise control on is the best for pure economy if you are not in a rush.

    Other than that 70, making sure you anticipate road conditions and try not to accelerate/brake

    Welcome. Surely it's an auto? Can't believe you can get a manual in the 5 but not the 3?

    i would imagine top gear at 65mph would be better mpg than 70mph, but 65 on the motorway these days seems almighty slow
