    Hi,
I've been a member of this forum for a while although never posted/introduced myself. Also owned my 1996 318is boston green for a couple of months sat anxiously in the garage with no M.O.T/tax/insurance. As of this week She is fixed up taxed and tested on the road, Proud to have it as my first car.

It runs perfectly although it has the airbag light on!? Came back from its MOT that way, any advice, is this bad?

Just a couple of rust spots on both rear arches to fix and I'l be 100% happy! Pics to come

    Welcome mate.

The airbag warning light could be a few things. Worst case is that one of the sensor pads in the seat isn't working and needs to be replaced.

On the other hand (I currently have this problem as my light is on) is that I have recently changed the seats, and even though I disconnected the battery and reconnected it when the seats were in. The airbag warning light has come on. A lot of BM's have this problem. I will soon buy a diagnostic tool so I can find out what is happening and reset it.

Cheaper than going to the stealers

thanks for the advice dave, further investigation has revealed it has been on since the ignition barrel was changed (p.o says she parked up, pulled out the keys and engine was still running!)

Do you think this means the airbag wont deploy in an accident? worrying.

Hi and welcome along to Bimmerforums UK, it's good to have you on board.

The airbag won't work in a accident.

If you start a thread in the relevant section we will help out where we can.
