As a BMW owner(325Ci) for five years I would like to re-assure any new Beemer owners that not all owners experience the problems recorded on the forums.I have had over five years totally problem free and pleasurable motoring.
My previous car was a Merc C250, which I had from new, was a complete disaster and I could never ever go back to Mercs .
By contrast I am struggling to move on from my present car and have looked at 2010/11 models but see little,if any benefit in replacing my present car.
I hope the advice I receive from the forum will enable me to hang on to my my beemer for a bit longer.
Lastly, thanks to the BMW experts who give responses to some very challenging questions.
I think this is something we all forget, by the very nature of Forums of this type it concentrates on the problems of our cars and not the good side. Swirl flaps are a good example, we all know there are a problem with them but how many thousands of BMW's are happily running about with them still in. Although you leave them in at your own peril.
Also the average age and mileage of the cars on here, it seems that fewer later cars are on here, there will obviously be more problems.
It's so nice to hear of a BMW that's trouble free. Perhaps we need to start a post on how good your BMW is.
